For developers, it establishes a powerful distribution channel to directly connect with the more than 800 million worldwide desktop Java users. Consumers will be able to access a wide range of Java-based applications for both personal and business use. What is a beta program?A beta program revolves around a release of pre-production software that is designed to stimulate feedback from potential users. Sun appreciates, and places high value, on any and all feedback that it receives from users and developers. This feedback is used by Sun to ensure that a high-quality product with rich functionality is released to the public. In general, a beta software release is well tested, but is known to contain some bugs. What sort of applications will be in the Java Store?The Java Store will feature a wide variety of applications including social software, games and productivity applications. We hope you like them.
