This article applies to:

During Java installation process, you get this error:
Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded from </bin/hotspot/jvm.dll>


The problem could be either caused by corrupted registry keys or incomplete installation.


Delete the file
The file is usually located in: “C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment” (where username is your login name) directory. The installation process will create a new file.

To remove the file, follow these steps:
  1. Click on Start > My Computer
  2. Go to “\Documents and Settings” directory
  3. Go to username sub-directory (username is your computer login name )
  4. Go to Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment directory
  5. Delete the file
  6. Run the installation process again
