Error: This installation package could not be opened.
Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

CAUSE

There are several possible causes to this issue, which are:
  • Proxy server requires authentication
  • Failed Network Connection
  • Download manager software interrupts the download process, e.g., GetRight
  • TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) programs, like Norton AntiVirus, may distract the installation process

SOLUTION

We are still in the process of evaluating this error. Currently we do not know the root cause of the problem. However the following are some of the workarounds that have solved the problem:
  • For Proxy server's authentication
Check the Internet Connection Proxy Setting page.
Note: Make sure that proxy authentication is turned off.
  • Network Connection Fails
In case of network congestion or erratic Internet connection from the ISP, sometimes this does not work properly as the installation files doesn't get downloaded completely. We recommend to download and install offline installer package
  • Download manager software
Some download software manager's do not work properly and may interrupt or slow down the process. It is recommended to stop these third party download managers and start normal download.
  • TSR
Anti virus programs have options of not allowing the download, unless they are deactivated for that period.
