Download errors: Corrupt MSI, java_sp.dll is corrupt, 1305, 2755, 1606, 25025, 1618

SYMPTOMS

During installation of Java from Java.com, a dialog box appears displaying one of the following error codes:

Corrupt MSI, 25025, java_sp.dll is corrupt, 1035, 1305, 1311, 1324, 1327, 1335, 1600, 1601, 1606, 1624, 1643, 1722, 1744, 1788, 2352, 2753, 2755 and 1618


CAUSE

These errors are seen during installation process, which indicate that an installation did not complete.


SOLUTION

Error: Corrupt MSI

This error is more commonly seen on Windows XP systems.
For Windows XP users, it is recommended to update to Windows Service pack 3 (SP3) in order for Java download and install to work successfully.


Error 1618, Object Already Exists, Key not valid

During installation of Java from Java.com, a dialog box appears displaying Error 1618, Key not valid in specified state, Object Already Exists.
Object Already Exists. This is a known issue with Microsoft KB2918614
